How Sprout started
Sprout Work didn’t start with a big business plan. It started with late nights.
Before Sprout was a studio, it was founder Kate Wong taking on side projects after 8pm — helping ex-colleagues and friends with design work outside of the usual corporate routine.
At first, it wasn’t about building a company.
It was about staying close to the craft — making work that felt more thoughtful, more useful, and a lot more exciting than day-to-day corporate design.
Over time, those freelance projects turned into long-term clients.
Those clients became the foundation of Sprout Work.
What started as one person in Singapore slowly grew into a creative studio — and later expanded with a team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
